This is the first of three courses on the topic of negligence. It addresses legal liabilities stemming from slip and fall, trip and fall, and other such occurrences. Topics include the four essential elements of a negligence case (duty to act reasonably, breach of duty, proximate cause, and injury), the legal status of the plaintiff, the concept of res ipsa loquitur, children and duty, attractive nuisances, negligence per se, strict liability, and respondent superior.
